Selecting the correct meter
- PIDs (Photoionization Detectors) measure the total concentration of VOCs in the air. The standard calibration is equivalent units of isobutylene.
- FIDs (Flame Ionization Detectors) measure the total concentration of VOCs, including methane.
- Combination PID + FID or PID + Multi-Gas Meters measure total VOCs and methane using PID + FID meters and measure VOCs + 4 other specific gases simultaneously for explosiveness and asphyxiation.
